Job Summary:
The Hydronic Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of hydronic heating systems and related equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of plumbing systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal performance of hydronic systems. The Hydronic Technician must possess exceptional technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality services to clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Install, maintain, and repair hydronic heating systems, including boilers, pumps, valves, expansion tanks, and related equipment.
2. Inspect and test hydronic systems to identify and resolve malfunctions, leaks, or other issues.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning boilers, replacing filters, and lubricating components to ensure system efficiency.
4. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems in hydronic systems, utilizing various tools and equipment to identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.
5. Collaborate with other technicians, plumbers, and contractors as needed to complete projects and resolve issues.
6. Follow safety protocols and adhere to relevant codes and regulations while performing all job duties.
7. Document all work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks, accurately and in a timely manner.
8. Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients and addressing their concerns or inquiries regarding hydronic systems.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to hydronic systems to ensure continuous professional development.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training program is preferred.
2. Valid plumbing and/or hydronic technician license/certification in accordance with local regulations.
3. Proven experience as a hydronic technician or a similar role, with a focus on hydronic heating systems.
4. In-depth knowledge of hydronic heating principles, equipment, and components.
5. Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining hydronic systems, including boilers, pumps, valves, and expansion tanks.
6. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
8. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.
9. Exceptional customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
10. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various settings, including confined spaces, heights, and extreme temperatures.
11. Strong commitment to safety protocols and adherence to relevant codes and regulations.
12. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
